My first wedding to officiate as a Pastor was for my dear friends Victor and Kim Estrada in 2003. I was so nervous and had no idea what I was doing as far as order of ceremony, vows etc! But by God's grace, it was an amazing, Christ centered wedding ceremony that myself and everyone there will never forget!
Since that first wedding, I have had the privilege to officiate over 30 weddings, including 8 weddings in 2011 alone! Along the way, I have learned tons about what to do and what not to do when officiating a wedding. As you search the internet or look thru books you won't find many helpful resources for Pastors who want to learn how to officiate a wedding. So as a public service to my fellow brothers, I am going to do a series of posts on wedding resources for Pastors. By creating these posts, I am in no way saying that I have it all figured out or that I am some sort of wedding officiant expert. But if anything I have compiled can help you as a Pastor point people to Jesus as you officiant at an upcoming wedding, than all Glory to God!
