Gospel Tracts and Cases of Beer

A few years ago, a high school student came up to me and asked me for some Gospel tract booklets. I gave him a pretty big stack and he excitedly took them and left. The next day, he came back and asked for more tracts…I looked at him and said, “What happened to the ones I gave you yesterday?  I gave you over 100…”

His eyes lit up and he looked at me and said  “I left your office and went down to Alberston’s grocery store.  I was going to walk around the store handing out the tracts to people, but then I got a better idea…I went up and down the soda and beer aisles and slipped a Gospel tract in every case of soda and beer!!

I looked at him and said, “That is awesome, I love your passion…But….
You can’t do that! That is called tampering, you could get arrested for something like that!

We then devised some more legal strategies for him to pass out tracts and off he went.
About 2 weeks later, a lady called our Church. She asked to speak to a Pastor and got a hold of Bob Johnson…She told Bob, “Hey I got your Church’s phone number off the back of a little booklet, I found in a case of beer.
I read through it and I want to know more about Jesus Christ!”

How crazy is that!!
Now, I am not advocating that we start a tract smuggling ministry in our local grocery stores!!!
Please don’t do that. But, this is just evidence of God’s power at work in our Mission.
If He can use a small Gospel tract in a case of beer, He can THRU his power use anything and everything!

Our job is to be obedient,to stay focused on our Mission and God’s power will do what He wills from there!

  1. God is everything to me. There is no doubt at all that to Him I should lay my life. Nice post. I like reading it.
